F5LS was one of the rare French manufacturers of amateur radio and SWL equipment. He began learning DIY at the age of 14 thanks to his father who was an engineer. One of his first creations in 1958 was a 5-band amateur traffic receiver with double frequency change fully transistorized the "SKYHUNTER". At the beginning of the sixties he created the brand "L.A.S" (Laboratory for the application of semiconductors) reduction of his name of Hungarian origin Laszlo. In these workshops on rue de la parish in Fontainebleau he will create numerous models, often at the cutting edge of progress, with the beautiful names of our sweet provinces of France such as VENDEE, PROVENCE, SAVOIE, etc…

Laszlo was a precursor of genius. In 1994 he built a prototype the BRETAGNE 3G which covered from 2 meters to 23 CM.

A member of REF N° 9644 since 1956, he was very active and had even organized an amateur radio expedition in 1972 on Mont Blanc!!! (4807 meters).

His radio amateur friends in the 1960s nicknamed it “THE OM TRANSISTOR”.

Laszlo Szakvary died on September 30, 2000 at the age of 73. Thanks to F6AOD and TK5JJ who knew Laszlo well and for the documents which helped me to create this site.

F5LS fut un des rares fabriquants Francais de materiel radioamateur et SWL.Il commenca a apprendre le bricolage a 14 ans grace a son pere qui etait ingenieur.Une de ses premiere realisation en 1958 fut un recepteur de trafic 5 bandes amateur a double changement de frequence entierement transistorise le « SKYHUNTER ».Au debut des annees soixante il cree la marque « L.A.S » (Laboratoire d’application des semi-conducteurs) reduction de son prenon d’origine Hongroise Laszlo.Dans ces ateliers de la rue de la paroisse a Fontainebleau il creera de nombreux modeles souvent a la pointe du progres aux beaux noms de nos douces provinces de France comme le VENDEE,PROVENCE,SAVOIE,etc…
