Since 1974, SANGEAN has earned the reputation of setting the standard for construction, design, sound, and reception. The path to success isn't always easy, but we pride ourselves on overcoming every hurdle while ensuring that every product maintains the same standard. Over the years, we have been dedicated to designing, engineering and manufacturing radios in all categories with a set of functions only intended to enrich the life of every user.

In 1936, C.S. Yang set up his very first radio dreaming of connecting with the world through music and sound. He was drafted into the army as a communications officer, where he developed a strong passion for innovation in radio. 38 years later, SANGEAN is established as a brand and manufacturer in 1974 with the hope of sharing this same dream with the world through its innovations.

Over the next few years, the baton was passed on to the second generation, helping SANGEAN become a household name around the world, with subsidiaries in California, Hong Kong and Venlo. To meet the growing demand, our factory in New Taipei City has also been extended to Dongguan.

Although some may say the radio is a thing of the past, we believe it remains a timeless element that has a place in any scenario. The amplified beauty in sound waves is not age or group detrimental and can be effortlessly produced by our products. The future of SANGEAN is driven not only by demand, but also by innovations setting in motion a new revolution. As radio and its industry continue to progress, our founder's dream remains the driving force of SANGEAN for future generations.

Sangean Electronics, Inc. (Chinese: 山進電子; pinyin: Shān Jìn diànzi) is a Taiwanese electronics company headquartered in Zhonghe District, New Taipei, Taiwan, with a factory located in Dongguan, China. The organisation is globally active with business units in Venlo, Netherlands, for Europe and Santa Fe Springs, California, for the Americas. The business units are directly in contact with distributors in relevant areas. It is noted for its shortwave radio receivers and digital radio (HD and DAB) receivers.

Sangean produces DAB / DAB plus (DAB+) radios, HD Radio tuner radios (with international tuning support), internet radios, work site radios, shower radios, portable radios and handheld radios.

The brand is distinctive for its designed products. Several products have won awards, which include Golden Pin Design Awards [zh]^[1] and the Taiwan Symbol of Excellence.^[2]

Apart from products sold under its own brand names, which include Lextronix,^[3] Sangean also produces on behalf of other companies: Many of the shortwave radios marketed by Siemens, Panasonic, Braun, Grundig, C.Crane, and Roberts have been and are being developed and produced by Sangean.
